Cozy little French restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating options right in the heart of Frenchtown. Definitely a must go if you’re in the mood for some French food. High quality ingredients and a lot of love in the food! French Onion soup is a classic and they nailed it with a deep onion flavor and a nice portion of bread on top. Hamburger was phenomenal as well and had a very Smokey taste. Fish and Chips were great, but not my favorite. Desert was definitely the star of the show with a delicious crème brûlée and fruit tart. Both just melted in your mouth.
Just opened in March 1st, so my general rule is not to try a restaurant until the kinks have been worked out. It's a great casual lunch or dinner place. The food was good! It's byob, so that helps with the bill. Food was reasonably priced and what we had was good. Server tried, she was clearly inexperienced, but none the less, she did a good job. Hey, you have to start some where! Hats off to the chef who helped out in the front of the house, when he was not busy. Nice outdoor seating, when the weather warms up!
Stopped in with my SIL for lunch and sat outside on the porch—such a lovely atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming. The hardest part of the meal was deciding what to order because everything on the menu sounded amazing. I ended up going with the short rib grilled cheese, and wow—it was absolutely delicious! The service was just as memorable as the food. From the hostess to the wait staff to the folks in the kitchen, everyone was genuinely friendly and made us feel right at home. This is definitely going on my list of go-to spots. Can’t wait to come back and try more!
Great spot! We were a group of 15, celebrating my birthday. We ordered apps and entrees and everything was so so delicious - the duck confit grilled cheese, potato latke and steak fries were next level. They made my reservation extra special by putting up birthday decorations. So accommodating, great service, and superb food. Can't wait to come back for dinner!
5 star experience and a very enjoyable meal. My wife took me to Chez Daniel for Father's day and we both were so pleased. As someone diagnosed with Celiac. I was drawn by the Gluten Free selections on the menu. As our daughter in law is an equally ambitious graduate of Johnson and Wales, I was intrigued by Chef Daniel's backstory. Our server was Ashliey and she greeted us and was well versed in food allergies and answered our questions. My wife ordered the Fish and Chips which was well proportioned and flavorful. I had the mussels provincal for appetizer followed by the special Steak au Poivre. The meal was delightful. I appreciate when dishes are presented in a very food forward manner and you can actually enjoy the taste of a mussel or hangar steak ( and not over seasoned) . Being a 45 minute drive away, I had never been to Frenchtown and I want to return and explore. It reminds me the town of Woodstock or some of the other quaint towns in the Hudson Valley where we formally resided. I am already looking forward to our return to Chez Daniel. Highly recommended!
I went with my husband and a friend on a Sunday evening and we loved it. Everything was really tasty and the staff is friendly. Daniel and the other guys are amazing! And of course, a shout out to the kitchen staff who makes that delicious food! P.S.: the pumpkin soup is deliciously good!!
This is a good restaurant. Nice menu with a number of dishes that aren't as prevalent in this area. Everything, appetizers to entrees were excellent. The only negative is that the restaurant itself has little ambiance. The space is not bad and has potential, but needs a decoraters touch. The outside dining appears to be better in this regard. Overall, a place I will frequent because the food is very good and reasonable.
I wanted to go there since I saw Steak Au pouvire on their menu. We went for dinner and I didn't see it on the menu?? The waitress forgot to mention it was on the Specials, do I ended up with a burger for Birthday Dinner. The burgers are a nice buy for the money. I did hear the lady near me liking the crab cake. I did so want the steak its hard to find out here! Oh well..
